Queenstown Top 10 Holiday Park Creeksyde plans to be environmentally sustainable. The overall park area was designed with an aim to provide as pleasant a green, relaxing area as possible within the inner urban confines of an alpine tourist destination. For the guest we needed a quality experience, with all possible services in as natural surrounding as possible and for the staff a place of pleasant, efficient functionality.
Our current policies are
- Firm commitment to staff being aware of and involved in the environmental philosophy of the premises.
- Continuing research and improvement of results where ever possible.
- Staff meetings involving all - discussing new options or ideas.
- Implementation of approved ideas.
- Outcomes discussed and documented.
- To be registered under the Camping Ground regulations 1985 and to comply with all relevant legislation.
- Annually GREEN GLOBE benchmarked/certification and Qualmark graded, aiming to maintain or improve.
- Regularly monitor all policies & procedures through a full set of analytical spreadsheets & KPI documents.
- To maintain a safe working environment.
- To employ locally domiciled persons, with own accommodation.
- To have stock of staff housing either within the park or elsewhere owned by employers.
- To employing local contractors and purchase from local suppliers wherever possible.
- NZ made, environmentally produced goods will be used where ever possible.
- Raise/submit industry issues on a National level within Holiday Accommodation sector of the Tourism Industry Assoc. through being an active member of HAPNZ (Holiday Accommodation Parks NZ).
- Raising and sponsoring solutions on environmental issues on a local level.
- Encourage guests to think about what they buy and then to divide any waste into our recycling bins.
Creeksyde plans to be involved with GREEN GLOBE on an ongoing basis and to use the benchmarking process as guidance to improving results. Within this policy is a commitment to having all suppliers and staff well aware of the park policies on the Environment including sourcing of product specifications, etc.
